I started this blog because I wanted a way to record and share my journey as I turn the big 4-oh. I thought it would be fun to create a bucket list of 40 things to do. As I began to create the list, I saw there was a potential to make everything on the list about the number 40 in one way or another. Check out the 40 things page for the list.
Though items on the list may seem simple, or easy to accomplish, there is a reason for that. You see, for the last two decades I have been suffering with autoimmune diseases. For when there is one, others will follow. It started out with Thyroid disease, but peaked last year when I finally was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). It's hard to explain to people what it is like to have chronic illness. Most of them don't understand that some days your body won't cooperate and you end up spending 3 days in bed, yet a week later you are climbing a mountain.
I have been given some tools to help manage the symptoms and I plan to put these to the test to see just how much I can accomplish my 40th year.
